Taking place 15 September 1963, this was the first time that the Beatles and the Rolling Stones were on the same bill. Eleven other acts will appear on the bill, and the compère is DJ Alan Freeman, The Viscounts, Kenny Lynch, Susan Maughan, and more. The prom is an annual fundraising event for the Printers Pension Corporation, promoted by teen magazines Valentine, Marilyn and Roxy.
